Julie D. Long, CAP, PACE is the principal member/owner of Abundant Business Strategies, LLC. She has a Bachelor of Science degree in Management with a Minor in Communication Studies from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. In addition, she has a second Bachelor of Science degree in Legal Studies from the University of Maryland University College. During her professional career of more than 20 years, she has been an insurance contract analyst, tradeshow accounts coordinator, financial administrative assistant, and director of finance and administration. In 2012, she earned the Certified Administrative Professional (CAP) designation from the International Association of Administrative Professionals. This certification required the completion of an approximately 300-question exam. The exam covered various key competencies including communication, organization and planning, information distribution, records management, physical and information resources, document production, financial functions, and human resources. Recently, she completed at least 60 hours of additional professional training to earn CAP recertification for another five years until 2019. The additional training included project management, organization, graphic design, and social media. Also, in 2012, she earned the Professional Administrative Certificate of Excellence from the American Society of Administrative Professionals. This certification requires completion of at least 92 hours of training in five key areas: interpersonal communication, office and digital technologies, project management, management skills, and career development. She completed a 10-part course in Social Media Marketing and Online Reputation Management. This course provided a foundation to plan, execute, and analyze social media campaigns. Lastly, she completed the Prince George's Community College's "Business Owners Success Series" program. This program awards a continuing education certificate upon completion of a 42-hour course of study. The course of study includes "Accounting and Recordkeeping for Small Business"; "Legal Issues that Face Business Owners: Your Business and the Law"; "Basic Federal Tax Information for Small Business"; "Business Plan: Developing the Blueprint for Success"; "Financial Aspects of Your Business"; "Marketing Strategies for Today and Tomorrow"; and a 6-hour related course.
